After playing and completing a gem like BlazBlue, King of Fighers XII is a serious step back for what 2D fighters on the next-gen systems should be offering. There is no comparison as far as visuals go, BlazBlue's beautiful HD sprites take the cake. Additionally, KOFXII offers three offline modes: arcade, versus, training. The arcade mode does not feature a story nor a boss character. Rather "arcade" is a series of five battles with randomly selected opponents - nothing more. Need I mention nearly the entire roster of stages in the game is exhausted in a single arcade play?
Only die-hard KOF purists need apply for this game. Others should consider their options.
